Monday, September 10 2007 @ 12:08 PM EDT Contributed by: joekoch Views: 785 Fall Camporee – Pirates of the Great Miami This announces our fall Camporee titled “Pirates of the Great Miami”. It is scheduled for Oct. 5-7, 2007 and is open to all Troops and Crews in the district. The raiding and pillaging activities will be conducted at the Timberhill Area of Rentschler Forest, (just west of Liberty-Fairfield Road on Route 4). - Check-In Time: 6:00 Friday - Cost Per Person: $ 12 This will be a fun-filled camping weekend for the troops of the Fort Hamilton District designed to promote fellowship, communication, and friendly competition between troops. Activities will include: "Raise the Mast" - which is a timed lashing contest requiring teams to lash 3 poles together into a flag pole and stake it to the ground using ropes "Find the Booty" - which is an orienteering course set up around the camp "Sink the Ship" - which will be a 2-man sling shot shooting contest with tennis balls & targets "Bail the Dinghy" - which will be a relay race using sponges to fill buckets with water "Decipher the Code" - is a large scale jigsaw puzzle with a code to break once assembled "Walk the Plank" is a trivia (pirate lore) game “Stretcher Race” – which will be teams constructing a stretcher and carrying an “injured pirate” for a distance "Know your Knots" will require participants to tie a series of knots in the correct order In addition, we are going to have a Tug of War tournament along with a number of craft-like events Saturday night we'll have a camp fire and show Pirates of the Caribbean on an outdoor projector
